LMS Secondary School · Grades 7–9

See the Potential. Not the Problem.

A secondary school that sees young people differently.

Not every student thrives in the same learning environment. At LMS, small learning groups, personal guidance and academically ambitious teaching create room for individual growth. We strengthen knowledge, confidence and the joy of learning.

A Different Perspective

Sometimes, Young People Need New Possibilities. Not More Pressure.

When motivation fades, academic performance does not reflect ability or a student feels out of place, a different learning environment can open new possibilities.

We listen, get to know each student and explore what they need to develop their strengths.

LMS Secondary School

What Sets Us Apart

01
Small Classes. Personal Attention.
Our small learning groups make room for meaningful relationships, individual support and focused feedback. Every student's strengths and challenges matter.
02
Potential Beyond Labels.
A previous placement in a different academic track does not automatically define a student's future. We assess abilities, current learning needs and potential individually to determine whether our academically demanding programme is a good fit.
03
An Environment That Supports Growth.
Respect, clear expectations and attentive guidance help create a positive school environment. We take conflict and exclusion seriously and address them promptly.
04
Rediscover the Joy of Learning.
We teach students not only what to learn, but how to learn: through effective strategies, personal goals, meaningful projects and visible progress.

Sek A Level

High Expectations. Individual Learning Pathways.

Our secondary programme is aligned with the academic expectations of Sekundarstufe A. A student's previous school placement is not the only factor we consider.

We look at academic foundations, personal development and individual potential to determine whether our learning environment and support model are the right fit.

At LMS, high expectations and personal support go hand in hand.

Our Learning Model

Learning Studio. Coaching. Independence.

Our foundation is the Swiss Curriculum 21 and solid subject teaching. Focused subject teaching, individual study time, personal coaching and projects work together. Students learn to plan their work, approach challenges independently and take ownership of their progress. Critical thinking is part of it: asking questions, checking sources and justifying their own judgements.

Our teachers and learning coaches support them wherever they need academic or personal guidance.

Future Skills

Learning for More Than Exams. Learning for Life.

From developing business ideas and coding digital solutions to exploring science and working on meaningful projects, LMS students apply their knowledge to real-world challenges.

Entrepreneurship, coding and artificial intelligence help build independent thinking, creativity and responsibility. This school year, students are also setting up their own student enterprise together.

Foundations and Pathways

Many Pathways. Strong Foundations.

Whether students aim for vocational training, a Gymnasium or another form of further education, LMS Secondary School builds strong academic foundations, independent learning skills and personal confidence. Vocational training and the Gymnasium are equally valued paths; what matters is what suits each young person.

We support students in exploring their strengths and preparing for their next educational steps. Admission to a Gymnasium is possible subject to the applicable admission requirements. In the Canton of Zurich, the route to a Kurzgymnasium after the 2nd or 3rd year of secondary school is the central entrance examination.

LMS Secondary School is approved by the Education Department of the Canton of Zurich. Students receive official school reports from the Canton of Zurich, recognised for every next step, from apprenticeships to Gymnasium and other upper secondary schools.

School Day

Learning at School. Time for Life.

Students complete their schoolwork during supported study periods, leaving evenings and weekends for family, friends, sports and personal interests.

Individual holiday arrangements can be discussed within applicable requirements.

Nature

Think Ahead. Stay Connected to Nature.

Our Monday nature day remains part of secondary education, providing outdoor experiences that complement classroom learning.
