This school year, our students will be immersed in the subject\u00a0NMG<\/strong>\u00a0(Nature, Man, Society) into a particularly fascinating topic:\u00a0Air<\/strong>. Although air surrounds us daily and plays an integral role in our lives, many people don't know what it's actually made of and what important functions it performs in nature. Together with our students, we've embarked on a journey of discovery into the world of air over the past few weeks \u2013 and many fascinating facts have come to light!<\/p>\n

\"\" \"\"<\/p>\n

What is air actually made of?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The children have learned that air is a mixture of different gases. Often we only think about...\u00a0oxygen<\/strong>, because we need it to breathe. But in fact, the air around us consists of only about 211 TP3T of oxygen. The largest proportion of around\u00a078%<\/strong>\u00a0consists of\u00a0Nitrogen<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 a gas that is important for plant growth but cannot be used by humans in its pure form. Furthermore, the air also contains traces of\u00a0Noble gases <\/strong>How\u00a0argon<\/strong>,\u00a0Neon<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0helium<\/strong>. Even though these gases are only present in small quantities, they play an important role in nature and technology.<\/p>\n

How important is air for life on Earth?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In class, the children not only explored the chemical composition of air, but also its importance for life on Earth. Without oxygen, we and many other living things couldn't breathe, but nitrogen and the noble gases are also essential for many biological and physical processes. Furthermore, air plays a vital role in our climate. It transports heat and moisture, regulates the weather, and protects us from harmful radiation from space through the atmosphere. \ud83c\udf26\ufe0f<\/p>\n

Exciting experiments and discoveries<\/strong><\/h2>\n

To make the topic of "air" vivid and tangible for the children, we have numerous\u00a0Experiments<\/strong> We also carried out these activities. In addition, to fit the theme, we made hot air balloons in our "Crafts" class. They also tested air pressure and its effect on various objects, and discovered why warm air rises and cold air sinks. These hands-on experiments showed the children that science isn't just theory, but also very real in our everyday lives \ud83d\ude80<\/p>\n

The children were particularly impressed by the realization that air is not "nothing." It has weight, exerts pressure, and occupies space \u2013 even though we cannot see it. We are thrilled by our students' curiosity and engagement with this topic and look forward to many more exciting projects and discoveries in the future!<\/p>\n

With this exciting topic in the subject NMG, our students not only acquired scientific knowledge, but also developed a better understanding of how important air is for life on Earth.<\/p>\n
